Meet Emma, Demi, Lauren and Victoria – our business support team at LIVES! Between them, this team help to manage all aspects of LIVES, from training and recruitment to fundraising and finance, they’re involved with it all!
If you’ve ever visited our HQ or called our office, it’s mostly likely a member of this team who you’ll speak to first. Each of their roles varies in different ways but they are all vital for helping everything at LIVES run smoothly.
Emma and Demi have been with LIVES for a few years, with Demi joining as an apprentice three years ago. Demi is a huge help in supporting our finance department and has been instrumental in implementing new systems and processes. Demi loves that she gets to meet so many incredible people as part of working at LIVES.
“The best part of my job is working with our members to support them to continue their invaluable work. Whether this is offering business support to other departments or working with our medics and responders to ensure they have everything they need.” she says.
Emma loves supporting the Education & Training department and she’s been a fantastic help to all our trainers, clients and responders.
“I love having an overview on all aspects of training that LIVES deliver and being able to support the Education Team and trainers to deliver the best possible training to both our external customers and first responders, and having that initial glimpse of the fantastic work that all our volunteers do.” she says.
Lauren and Victoria joined us last year and have got well and truly stuck into the LIVES family. Lauren is a great support in the recruitment process for new Community First Responders and helps prepare everything they need to welcome them to LIVES. Like Demi, Lauren also loves that she gets to meet and work with our volunteers.
“I like helping responders do what they do best – respond! I enjoy getting to know everyone that is a part of LIVES and why they are a part of LIVES.” she says.
Victoria has been super in supporting the fundraising team, helping to process donations and – most importantly – thanking all our donors. Victoria is really proud to be part of the LIVES team and passionate about the work we do.
“Until I started working for LIVES, I didn’t realise how many of my own family members and other people I knew had been seen by a responder, which makes me even more proud to work for such a vital charity in our rural county.” she says.
Along with LIVES 50th Anniversary, Victoria has something else to look forward to this year – welcoming her first child! Victoria is currently on maternity leave but we look forward to welcoming her back to LIVES early next year.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, all of the business support team, who are usually office based, have moved to being home-based, a new experience for them all! It’s been challenging but they’re doing a great job at keeping all the cogs going remotely. They’re all itching to get back to their desks and hopefully it won’t be much longer until they’re in the office again.
Thank you to all the team for their hard work – we couldn’t do it without you!
