#25YearsMatter is our main campaign running throughout 2024 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our Community First Responder initiative! We’re incredibly lucky to have a dedicated network of CFRs across Lincolnshire who dedicate their time to making the county a safer place to live. All of our CFRs are volunteers and they use their own time to respond to 999 calls – and are on scene first 85% of the time. We welcome you to take your time and get to know a selection of our CFRs.
Tim has been responding at LIVES for over 10 years and also works at EOC (Emergency operations centre) helping to dispatch ambulances and responders to medical emergencies.
“I thought – I could do this! I went along and signed up!”
Nikki Wells, is one of our longest-standing Community First Responders who has been with us since 2001. Nikki’s seen it all, she’s seen us relocate three times to accommodate our growth as a charity, and our eye-catching re-brand and she remains with us today – as dedicated as ever, committed to saving LIVES.
“I can’t believe we’ve had 25 years of community responding in Lincolnshire. The role has developed so much over that time, but still, at its core, it’s just one neighbour helping another. The time has flown by. I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring.”
Howard is a Community First Responder based in Grantham and has been with LIVES for two years.
“I wanted to do something to give back to the place where I live”
Linda was a Community First Responder at LIVES up until December 2023, and had been for 13 years! Now, she focuses on teaching CPR in schools and community groups around Lincolnshire as a LIVES CPR Champion!
“I’ve been able to help in my community!”
Annie Wakeford has been a Community First Responder at LIVES for over 8 years and is our District Co-ordinator for South Holland. In her own words what motivates her is “being there for her community at those times when minutes really matter.”
“Volunteer’s aren’t paid because, in my eyes, they’re priceless.”
Aydn is a level 3 responder and has been at LIVES since 2023. He is based in Sleaford, but also responds from work! Branston Potatoes have supported Aydn to be able to attend medical emergencies from the work place.
“I came on board to continue making a difference.”
