Responder stories
On 14th November, the LIVES team was proud to be part of Skills Week at Glen Park Forest School and Outside Learning Centre in Surfleet. The week brought together 13 young learners eager to explore new skills, with a special focus on safety and emergency response.
LIVES Community First Responder Annie Wakeford joined forces with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue to deliver an engaging and educational experience. Annie spoke to the children about the invaluable work LIVES does in responding to medical emergencies across Lincolnshire. She also led an interactive CPR demonstration, where every young learner enthusiastically got involved, practicing this essential life-saving skill.
The Forest School team—Amanda, Adam, and Zachary—were thrilled with how the children responded. They shared: “The children loved the visit so much that they set up their own emergency centre in the learning shed and role-played the demonstrations impeccably!”
It’s always a privilege for LIVES to inspire the next generation with practical knowledge and skills that could one day save a life. Sessions like this help to instil confidence in young people and show them that anyone, no matter their age, can make a difference in an emergency.
A big thank you to Glen Park Forest School for inviting us to be part of this fantastic initiative and to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue for their brilliant contributions. To the young learners, your creativity and eagerness were amazing—we hope this experience has sparked a lasting interest in helping others!
At LIVES, we’re passionate about spreading awareness and teaching life-saving skills in communities across Lincolnshire. Together, we can make a difference.
